Quick Overview

We picked up the last of this delicious white when it was being cleared out following the purchase of Tucks Ridge by Montalto. Previously priced at $40 at cellar door, this gently rich, smooth and nicely fresh chardonnay is a bargain at just $26.50 and will be lovely drinking over the next two years. Ranked at 95 points by James Halliday.

Tucks Ridge was a Halliday “Five Star” winery that was recently purchased by its immediate neighbour, Montalto. They have totally re-branded them into a fun, early drinking producer so all their classic wines were heavily discounted for a quick sale. We managed to secure the remaining stocks of two vintages of their premium “Turramurra” chardonnay and this release is the first of them. Turramurra was a vineyard established by Dr David Leslie in the eighties and it is situated adjacent to the famous Elgee Park vineyard at Wallaces Road, Dromana. The wine making was taken over by Tucks Ridge some time ago and their "Turramurra" was their premium white. We can now offer it at $26.50 which is well below the old cellar door price of $40 – rated at 95 points by James Halliday it is a bargain that is drinking beautifully. Halliday : “Rating 95 the wine is very expressive and lively, with juicy white peach and grapefruit in tandem, the French oak well-balanced and integrated. Drink by: 2021 Price: $40.00 “
