From yet another family owned, boutique winery that encountered serious financial problems in 2012, this is a delicious, crisp bargain of a wine from a top region. Unlike most areas in the eastern states, 2011 was a great vintage year in Margaret River, and this area is arguably the best in Australia for this blend. This wine is a gleaming, very pale straw in colour, with delicate citrus and mulberry on the nose. In the mouth it is smooth and light with hints of citrus leading to a refreshing clean finish. It is aging well due to the semillon component, while sauv blanc can last for decades (think Sancerre). Lovely, refreshing wine that is great value at this weeks Bargain price of only $10 a bottle.
